Updates…

Alright, to start I am still alive. I survived my month of sick leave from my old job, yes I did say old job, and went back to work. Then in August I got a great opportunity and now I have become an English teacher.

So much has happened in the past few months, I don’t even know where to start. I say this with every disappearance I have from my blog that I am trying to post more and will more frequently, and I am going to try. However, as much as I want to write and let my readers know what’s going on, with my new job teaching and new dedication to my spiritual self I don’t always have the right mindset to write a post.

I will say however, that I haven’t just been neglecting my blog, but my writing all together. This is something I truly intend to change. As I get more comfortable in my new job, I will begin to post more frequently. I know those of you out there who read my posts will like them happening more, or even at all as the case has been these last few months.

So, I am embracing my crazy in all new ways these days and I look forward to sharing my new journey, my old stories, and any random bits of insanity that come my way.

The Tits and Giggles

So this is a Post I did with my best friend and Music writing partner. I hope this doesn’t offend anyone, it is meant as a joke, but if you are offended you might be a Tits and Giggles yourself.
Sit back, laugh at the joke and Embrace the crazy, Tits and Giggles need love too.

The Mighty Mites

We’ve all seen them. We have all encountered them at a work event, a high school football game, and most often the bars and clubs where we go to have a good time.

Then there they are. As normal girls we resent them, not out of jealousy or malice, but because we want them to shut the hell up.

These girls are fairly easy to spot, and once you see them, you can’t ignore them. They are raging Barbie wannabes of estrogen. They stick out their chest, regardless of their cup size, and they giggle, and whoop and holler as if everything is hysterical and they do this as if it is going to be the last chance they have to laugh again.

They are the girls who get the attention of every potential male in the room. They have no regard for the relationship status of a man, they…

Decided to Have Long Exposure Fun

So I decided to re log this because not only are the photos of me, but it shows a bit of what I’ve been doing while not writing these days. Enjoy!

The least used item in my kit is my ND filter. The CPL took the place of my UV “filter” as the protective layer between the world, and my lens, but I spent the money on the ND. So why not find something to do with it. I stumbled across a video from the guys at DigitalRev, where they took long exposure portraits on a busy street, and I decided that would be a perfect afternoon project. Sadly I live in Jacksonville Florida, and busy streets here are nothing compared to what they were working with in Hong Kong, but we have a few fountains downtown. I went out, threw Katie in a sack, and told her that I would bring her home safe if she didn’t ruin my shots.

The exercise is pretty simple. Just requires a flash, tripod, and camera. The ND was useful since we did…

New year New game

So soon I will be posting regularly again, but my end of the year job seems to have been to inspire new blogs. I have helped several people who wanted to share their art or life through this medium create blogs in the past month.

I plan on my own writing to be again gracing the screens soon. The last year was a mess and I got here on occasion, this year I plan on more focus. However, we all know my focus tends to lapse. So, I will try to write more, but all I can promise is to be here trying.

I love my readers and I hope to give you more in the upcoming year. 2015 should be better, no, it will be better!

New Day, New Job

I am excited to say that I have finally found a new job! I am working for a fantastically interesting older gentleman as a personal assistant. My first day was yesterday and it went really well.

I have today off, so I am planning on getting some much need writing done. Hopefully I will get started on that soon. Things are starting to work out for me and that is always great to be able to say!

Now I need to do some laundry, write some stuff, and get moving on my personal stuff. That is my problem right now though, it is a perfect lazy day, and I am trying to find my motivation.

I hope everyone else is having a great week so far, I know I am!

Embrace the Crazy, even if that means a lazy day.

Transitions

So I wanted to go ahead and let everyone know that I am making some changes to this blog.  I am in the process of changing the name of the blog.  I have already changed the web address from livingthecword.wordpress.com to katiemflynn.wordpress.com.  This is the first of several changes which I plan to have finished before the new year.

In addition to changing the url, I will also be changing the blog title.  This is largely due to the fact that I want to make sure that people will be finding this because they want to read what I have to say, and not because they stumble across this and think I might be a blog about living with cancer.  I write about mental health, and the difficulties of writing with mental health disorders.  I want this to be more easily understood when someone visits my blog.

I will be adding a couple of categories, one of which will be a photo gallery.  I also hope to get my music onto a player on this blog as well.  I know that most of my followers came from me writing about mental health, and that focus is not going away.  However, since I have been expanding my focus in the past six months I believe this is a change which I am ready for, and is necessary for me to continue with writing what I am passionate about.

I hope you will bear with me as I make these changes.  I will be going through my old posts and fixing any hyperlink issues which may arise from the address change.

Thanks!  Embrace the Crazy
